Wanda Joyce Billings 1934-2026

Wanda Joyce Billings, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, entered into the welcoming embrace of our heavenly father on Saturday, September 5, 2026, leaving behind an immensely grateful and blessed family that will forever cherish her memory. She was 91.
Funeral services were held at His Place Fellow- ship on September 10. with the Reverend Mike Fortenberry officiating. Graveside services and burial followed at Restland Cemetery in Roxton.
Wanda was born on November 22, 1934, to parents Eldon and Hassie Slayden and was one of 12 children. She graduated from Roxton High school. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Billings. While her husband was in the Army, she raised their two children. In 1968 she went to work for First State Bank in Honey Grove as a teller and finished her career as an Assistant Vice President of Client Services. Their incredible love story is the bedrock of their family and has provided a Godly example of the power of patience and devotion.
Wanda enjoyed playing bridge with many card club groups. She was also an active member of East Paris Baptist Church and a member of the women’s Sunday School class.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and nine of her siblings. She is survived by her 2 children; Tim Billings and his wife, Lisa and Kennette Billings (Beal); seven grandchildren; Blayne Beal, Brandt Beal, Kenton Beal and his wife, Stephanie, Kelsey Beal, Keldon Beal, Taylor Billings (Seitz) and her husband, Michael, Trenton Billings and his wife, Annika; seven great grandchildren, Kreed Beal, Sawyer Beal, Camden Beal, Kaelynn Remy, Harley Hatfield, Charley Seitz, and Ryan Seitz; brother, Jimmy Slayden and sister, Peggy Boles. Additionally, she was blessed to have numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those that wish to make a mon- etary contribution in her memory can do so through East Paris Baptist Church, His Place Fellowship, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
