Ensuring Safety at Chisum ISD

The panic button system Chisum ISD has installed is through KLC video and Edutrax. We have installed panic buttons in every classroom for every teacher or substitute teacher to have access to contact 911 in case of an emergency. We also decided to take this program a couple of steps further by installing weapons protection cameras on all our entry doors throughout the district. Chisum also was thinking about a situation where the teacher is not in the classroom. How will they notify 911 and 911 will receive a location of where the emergency is so we took it a step further and this year will be issuing every staff member with a panic button card to wear with their employee I.D. so no matter where they are they can notify 911 and first responders in an emergency. To make this possible Chisum has had to install Geo tracking technology every 20 feet throughout the district to make this possible. With this system first responders will have the capability to see the location of the emergency in real time saving time so that students and staff can stay safe. Thanks to the support of the school board and Superintendent making sure that Chisum ISD is safe so our kids can get an education to prepare them for the future.
